DRUM SKIMMERS

LAYNE Commercial Services Inc, line of drum skimmers are designed for both portability and extreme durability on the toughest jobs. Various 18″ diameter oleophilic drums are capable of recovering hydrocarbons at rates of up to 200 gallons per minute. This easily deployable unit is ideal for inland and marsh spills, since it is capable of operating at water depths as shallow as 3″.

Components of the DRUM SKIMMER SYSTEMS are detailed as follows:

  • The DRUM SKIMMER FLOTATION UNIT is constructed of lightweight aluminum. Lifting handles and boom connector attachment points are provided.
  • The HYDRAULIC POWER PACK is comprised of a 10 HP diesel engine with a two (2) gallon capacity diesel fuel tank, fifteen (15) gallon hydraulic oil tank, and a control panel, all of which is mounted on a rubber-wheeled, heavy duty aluminum frame (approx. weight 385 lbs.) Electro hydraulic power packs or other power sources are available upon request.
  • The Hydraulically driven Transfer Pump (sized proportionally to skimmer capabilities.) Also available with Pneumatic drive.
  • Hydraulic unit-one set Hydraulic and Pump Discharge Hoses (40′ lengths). Pneumatic unit-one set Pneumatic Hoses and Pump Suction and Oil Discharge Hoses (50′ lengths).
